Cub Scouting has experienced great changes this year. 2015 is the year adventures have been brought to the forefront of Cub Scouting. Lord Baden-Powell said, “Life without adventure would be deadly dull.” For us at CCS, we are looking to highlight the adventures in Cub Scouting; to turn them into Adventures for Life. Cub Scouting can help make your life adventurous.
Lord Baden-Powell also taught “The most important object in Boy Scout training is to educate, not instruct.” We are striving to make this training a hands-on experience and not a day of lectures. Please take the time to play with us as we teach you about these adventures and how to enjoy them with your boys. Every boy deserves a well-trained leader.
As you look over the class list, you will notice they are arranged by Cub Scouting position. This will make it easier to find the classes most beneficial to you. All classes are open to every participant and could fill up quickly, so register early. Please take the classes that will help you and the boys you teach. We are here to educate and to have fun.
Experienced leaders should be recognized for the dedication they put into Cub Scouting, and we want to recognize you. As you participate you may earn a college degree from the College of Cub Scouting. Please look at the degree requirements and make sure your Youth Protection is up to date. Those of you who attended last year should be working towards your Bachelor’s Degree this year. If this is your first year at CCS, you will work towards your Associate’s Degree.
We look forward to seeing you 8:00 AM on NOVEMBER 14, 2015 at JORDAN HIGH SCHOOL.
Yours in Scouting,
Dean Jody Harrison
